A Mantra for Moving Forward

Presently, as I write this, I sit in a place of change - not just a hypnosis office, but within my own changes. Life is about to accelerate (in good ways). As things progress, I will keep you posted. But for now, there are times when I find myself exhilarated. Then there are times when it begins to seem a bit overwhelming. It is during these moments, that I feel my humanity all too well. The refuge seems to be in accepting that change is inevitable. The more one fights it, the worse it gets. The more one just lets go, the more the journey unfurls with grace and a certain sense of peace. This later also allows for one to look at change through a positive frame of mind and make choices accordingly.

So, I will share my personal mantra with you for this week's contemplation.

Each step is a step forward into a place of learning, inspiration, and positive evolution.

Enjoy!

Props

So, you have considered hypnosis or rather making some sort of change - what then? If you are making a change to improve your health, lose weight, or motivate yourself to exercise, it may necessitate new foods, new exercise materials such as Yoga Mats like the Ecowise Yoga Mat or the PurEarth Eco mat, Pedometers such as the Omron HJ-720ITC or the 340 Step and Distance, health conscious Stainless Steel Water Bottles such as the Stainless Steel Hydration Bottle or a New Wave Enviro Stainless Steel Bottle, workout clothes or a variety of these sorts of things. So, where do you go?

As much as I subscribe to the idea of buying from local small businesses, its good to get as much information as possible. A company with good blogs can really be an asset. You get a feel for both the products or services and the people behind the company. Fit Fuel is one such company that provides both healthy products and has a blog. They offer organic products, raw food bars, yoga supplies, to mention a few of their products.

And though Fit Fuel may not be local to you - they are human. The site does not feel like a large corporate site, but one that is more personal. It is a good start in moving beyond the hypnosis session. But please know that all this is based on my experience with their web site. It is an excellent resource whether you order or not.

N*tranced and the Dramatic Art

Press Release:

WHO: N*tranced Hypnosis and Guided Meditation and Ken Smith, Historical Artist

WHAT: N*tranced to Host An Artist Reception for Ken Smith’s Newest Art Series - The Victorian Actress

WHEN: August 29, 2008 from 5 pm to 9 pm

WHERE: N*tranced Hypnosis and Guided Meditation

Maryville, Tennessee. Stepping into the office of hypnotist L.S. King, one sees a space that is comfortable, non-sterile, and artistic. On one wall, a dark haired Sarah Bernhardt laments her passions as Lady MacBeth, as does a reposed Helena Modjeska as Marguerite from Camille. Lily Langtry lounges mischievously as Rosalind from As You Like It, while Maud Adams has all the confidence of Peter Pan. Ellen Terry’s Ophelia majestically deals with her Hamlet madness. Mary Anderson chooses to go back on her pedestal as Galatea from Pygmalion and Galatea. These six actresses, as painted by historical artist Ken Smith, have found temporary domicile at N*tranced where they await their adoring public.

On Friday, August 29, 2008, from 5 pm to 9 pm, the public is invited to the unveiling and public showing of this latest series by Ken Smith. The original oil paintings will be displayed and limited edition giclee prints will be available for purchase.

“We are very excited to be able to host this reception for Ken Smith and his new series of paintings. Though N*tranced is a business office, we strive to create a true gallery experience in Maryville, and Mr. Smith’s work is a fine example of the talent located in the heart of East Tennessee,” says L.S. King, owner of N*tranced.

Smith, whose art work for the Fort Loudoun State Historic Area was recently featured in Tennessee Conservationist magazine is a good fit for the hypnotic space. When beginning the Fort Loudoun project, Smith used hypnosis (from N*tranced) to help visualize the first painting in that series (which can be seen at the park visitor center in a gallery area dedicated to his original artwork). Ms. King wished to honor the creative process by premiering this new series of Victorian Actresses at her office in Maryville.

N*tranced Hypnosis and Guided Meditation is located at 305 College Street in downtown Maryville, Tennessee. For more information or directions, please contact L.S. King at 865-406-1135 or visit www.n-tranced.com. To learn more about the art work of Ken Smith, visit www.kensmithhistoricalart.com.

Contemplating a Summer Vacation

I did not go to Boston this year. In fact, I have only ever been in Boston twice, once for an impromptu vacation and once I flew in to go to a hypnosis convention in Marlborough, Mass. It is time again to think of heading back up there for the said convention (and maybe staying for awhile as there are so many things to do in Boston). Due to other commitments, I probably won't go this year, but all the paper work that has arrived in the mail for it, has me remembering my time in this part of New England.

Both times that I went, I traveled alone, not having any idea of what to expect. I was full of anticipation and not to mention, just a little anxiety. The first trip was the first time I had ever traveled to a city on vacation by myself and it took an effort to force myself to carry out my travel plans, but in the end, I had a grand adventure (I will always think fondly of Lowell, Mass. and their summer festival), enjoyed the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and connected with people I would not have known otherwise. The second trip (to the convention) was the same, though I had a grueling schedule planned that did not really include leaving the hotel. Both were extremely empowering.

This leads me to this week's contemplation.

Think about a time in your life when you planned to do something (positive), but had a bit of apprehension. See if you can remember that feeling - of spreading your wings in way you may not have ever done before. The wings open, fluttering, and you step off the ledge and find yourself staying in the air and then you soar. Think about this positive time, how you felt when you followed through with your plans. Perhaps you felt s sense of completion, a connection, or an adventure well traveled. Fill your mind, body, and spirit with all the good feelings from the experience. Hold onto them for awhile, letting them recharge you, maybe even inspire you. Tell yourself you can re-expereince this wonderful feeling anytime you desire. It is yours.

And with that said...if I have inspired you to travel, you can learn about things to do in San Francisco or many places from Trusted Tours & Attractions and their online travel guides. You can also sign up for their newsletter, giving you an opportunity to win win a $150 iTunes Gift Card.
